2019 Bubble Blitz: Tuesday 22 October at Exeter Chess Club

Fans of speed chess will be pleased to hear that the 5th “Bubble Blitz” tournament – which is open to all – will take place on Tuesday 22 October 2019 at Heavitree Social Club, 2 East Wonford Hill, Exeter, EX1 3BS. Please arrive by 7:15pm to register, so we can make a prompt start by 7:30pm.

There’ll be nine rounds of fast chess at a blitz time control (5 minutes for the game), with a bottle of champagne for the winner – and a variety of other prizes will be awarded to players whose performances are particularly impressive or spectacularly dismal!

Entry is free to Exeter Chess Club members, and non-members can pay £3 on the night to play, or £5 to join the club for the year. If you aren’t a current ECC member but are keen to join in the action, please notify us by sending a quick email (with subject line “Bubble Blitz”) to timpaulden@gmail.com in advance so that we have an idea of numbers – thanks!
